Eat Photos of people enjoying their food as freely as possible. The sloppier the better.
Looking down Photos of people looking down from balconies and windows.
Corners Photos of interesting corners shot with a wide angle lens, revealing life as it unfolds in the streets on both sides of the corner.
People on the job People doing their everyday jobs.
Portraits Photos of peoples faces mainly. The photos can be posed.
Panning Photos of moving subjects shot at medium to slow shutter speeds with low ISO that give a sense of movement.
High speed freeze The opposite of Panning, shoot people at very high shutter speeds and try and freeze split seconds in time.
Hands full Photos of hands full of anything. For example hands with coins, hands with dirt, hands with a tablet, a smartphone, etc.
Motion Blur crowds Set up your cameras on tripods (sorry there is no other way around this, unless you have solid, motionless hands) and shoot crowded places with very slow shutter speeds.
Behind glass Make photos of people and situations behind glass. That glass can be coloured, shattered, anything.
Reflections (in Puddles, glass, water) Make a collection of photographs from reflections in puddles, glass, water, cars, anything.
Silhouettes Make a collection of photographs of Silhouettes.
Only Shadows Make a collection of photographs of just human Shadows without any visible people.
Hand gestures Make a collection of photographs of people’s hands gesturing. Things like pointing, waving etc.
Angry people Make a collection of photographs of angry people. This might be a hard one!
Street Photography Make a collection of Street photographs
100 Strangers Make a collection of 100 strangers you don’t know anything about. This is like the portraits project but the 100 Strangers projects has to be 100% candid shots.
Boredom Photograph people looking bored and make a nice collection of photos of bored people. How boring!
Opposites Make a collection of photos that include opposite things. For example a cat looking at a dog, or a tall man sitting next to a short man, etc.
Landmark
Visit various landmarks and create a collection of landmark photos. 21. Steps and Stairs Stairs may sound a little boring but if you start thinking about the materials they're made from and the shapes and styles that exist, you'll soon realize there's plenty of steps to keep you and your camera occupied. 22. City Park The green spaces found in towns and cities are a haven for many and are a great place to take your camera when you want a break from the busy streets. 23. Windows and Signs Spend some time in your town and capture some interesting images of displays and signs. They'll be plenty of interesting signs, plus head back out at night and the shop fronts will have a completely different look to them. 24. Urban Decay Technique of photographing the decay found within the city (urban landscape). Think rust, crumbling concrete, spray paint, etc. 25. Nature in the City Spring is here. Look for signs of spring and nature within the urban landscape. 26. Doorways
STEP 1 When we return from the field trip, print a contact sheet of all of the photos you took on your theme.
STEP 2 Mrs. Thomas will review your contact sheet and return it to you with some images selected for you to edit, you will choose the rest. You will edit a total of 10 photos. Use the 7-point system for editing with Camera Raw through Bridge to edit your photos. Put these edited photos in a google slide presentation, with before and after photos.
Think about your theme when you are editing your photos. Think about what you want to communicate through your idea. For example, would they be better black and white, desaturated color, oversaturated color, sepia toned, cyanotypes, pop color, HDR, etc..... choose wisely....
STEP 3 Create a PicMonkey collage of 5-10 of your best photos, that fulfill your theme.
